• You live in an apartment: Your technician will connect your home to the Fiber network located at the bottom of your building. The connection is included in your offer.

• You live in a house: Your technician will connect your home to the Fiber network located in the street. The connection is included in your offer.

• You are a professional customer: Your technician will connect your premises to the nearest Fiber network. The connection is included in your offer.

2 - Installation of the Fiber socket

You will define with your technician the location where your Fiber socket should be installed.

We will do our best to adapt to your needs and the aesthetics of your home.

If your request cannot be taken into account, your technician will try to find an alternative solution with you. Without specification or written contraindication from you, the socket will be installed by default in the living room.

• For professional customers, your technician will also adapt to your needs while offering you optimal solutions.

3 - Connecting your equipment

Once the socket has been installed, your technician will assist you in connecting your equipment (Fiber Box, Apple TV, Smart Wi-Fi). It will be able to connect one of your devices (PC, mobile, etc.).

• For professional customers, we advise you to invite your private installer to install or reconnect certain specific equipment (router, switch, VPN, etc.)

Watch the guide

In the event that you need to reconnect your Box, we invite you to consult the

manual

You have two options for connecting your equipment to your network:

• Ethernet connection

• Wi-Fi connection

Connecting your devices with an Ethernet cable is the simplest and most efficient way to benefit from your Fiber network.

It has two main advantages: A more stable connection and better speed (up to 10Gbps).

To connect one of your devices (computer and/or TV decoder) via Ethernet, nothing could be simpler. All you need to do is equip yourself with an Ethernet cable (preferably category 6a) and plug it into one of the 4 slots on the back of your Box (red frame in the diagram below).

If you want to benefit from a higher speed of up to 10Gbps, we advise you to equip yourself with an RJ 45 cable (category 6a). Simply plug it into the 10G Ethernet port located on the back of the Box (green frame in the diagram below).

Ethernet cables are sold in Monaco Telecom stores.

Once your connections are made, we invite you to follow the 2 steps below:

1 - Start your computer

2 - Check that the green light is on above the Ethernet connection of your Box (see the diagram below). If so, you are connected!

The Wi-Fi connection represents the freest way to take advantage of your Fiber network. To connect to your Wi-Fi, nothing could be simpler.

All you have to do is scan the QR code located below your Fiber Box.

To do this, use the camera on your cell phone. It will scan the code and immediately connect you to the network

TIP :

Print your QR code from the Wi-Fi menu of your interface or take a photo with your smartphone to make it more accessible to your guests. To connect another device, you will need to enter the network name (FibreBox_XXXX) and the password (Wi-Fi password) indicated under the box.

You can enable or disable your Wi-Fi from your administration interface. Be careful if you change the password the QR code will no longer work.

To do this, you must follow the following steps:

1 - Go to the “Wi-Fi” tab in the left column

2 - Click “ON” or “OFF” according to your needs

3 - Validate your choice by clicking on “Apply” at the bottom right of the page.

Watch the tutorial

You also have the option to activate or deactivate your Wi-Fi using the Wi-Fi button located on the front of your Box.

The Fiber Box automatically offers you two frequencies:

• A 2.4 GHz frequency for browsing the internet, processing your emails or spending time on social networks.

A 5 GHz frequency (near the Box) for network gaming or downloading content.

Don't worry, your devices automatically identify the most suitable frequency band.

Watch the tutorial

Originally, this option, also called band steering, is activated on your Box. You can deactivate it from your administration interface. However, we advise you to keep it active in order to optimize your Wi-Fi connection.

You can also optimize your Wi-Fi connection by adjusting the channel used on your Box. You can then select the channel least used by your neighborhood and thus benefit from better speed.

If you do not know how to connect to the interface, consult the article “access to the administration interface of your Box

To change the name of your network, we invite you to connect to the interface of your Box. If you do not know how to connect to the interface, consult the article "access to the Box management interface".

Please follow the following steps:

1 - Select the “Wi-Fi” menu

2 - Change the name of your network (SSID fields)

3 - Change your password (complying with security standards)

4 - Confirm your password

5 - Validate by clicking on “Apply” at the bottom right of the page

To activate a Smart Wi-Fi, please follow the following steps:

1 - Connect the power adapter to the Smart Wi-Fi

2 - Plug your Smart Wi-Fi into an electrical outlet (near your Fiber Box)

3 - Wait for the power indicator to turn white

4 - Press the WPS button on your Box for 5 seconds

5 - Press the WPS button on your Smart Wi-Fi for 5 seconds

6 - Once the indicator light remains green, move the terminal to the desired location while keeping the indicator light green, to benefit from an optimal connection.

If you want to install several Smart Wi-Fi terminals, repeat the operation for each terminal.

View installation guide

The Smart Wi-Fi recovers the Wi-Fi from the Fiber Box to redistribute it. It is normal that the flow rate is a little lower than that emitted directly by your Fiber Box.

Thanks to Smart Wi-Fi terminals, the Wi-Fi 6 signal from your Fiber Box is distributed, amplified and stabilized throughout your home/premises.

Your devices are automatically connected to the hotspot that provides you with the best connection.

Each Smart Wi-Fi has a link indicator light to check if the speed is optimized:

1 - When the indicator is green, the connection with the Box is excellent

2 - Orange: The connection with the Box is correct

3 - Red: The connection with the Box is poor

4 - Flashing red: The connection with the Box has been lost

5 - When the connection indicator is off, this means that there is no connection with the Box.

When the indicator appears orange or red, you should move the Smart Wi-Fi terminal closer to your Fiber Box.

If your terminal is no longer connected, restart it using the On/Off button located on the back of the case.

Once this operation has been completed, you must re-associate the Smart Wi-Fi terminal with your Fiber Box.

You will find more details on the steps to follow in the installation guide

TIP : Plugging an Ethernet cable into the back of your Smart Wi-Fi will ensure a more stable connection.

The Fiber Box offers you the possibility of activating and deactivating your Wi-Fi during predefined time periods.

By using your Box's administration interface, you can personalize Wi-Fi access for one or more devices.

Please follow the following steps:

1 - Select the “Applications” menu

2 - Click on “Parental Control

3 - Choose one device or all devices

4 - Select the period(s) you wish to modify

5 - Validate by clicking on “Apply” at the bottom right of the page

To modify the DNS servers of the Box from the administration interface, go to the “Network settings” section, then to the “DNS” subsection.

You can therefore modify the primary and secondary server.

Monaco Telecom's DNS servers are:

Primary DNS: 195.78.26.210

Secondary DNS: 195.78.26.211

To summarize, the DynamicDNS setting (included in the Box) allows you to match a host name to the IP address of your Box (even if it changes).

You just need to remember the chosen host name and you will always be able to reach your Box from outside even if the IP address changes.

Note: You must go through a third-party provider for the service (NOIP, DynDNS, StatDNS etc.). This service provider will be able to provide you with your host name.

1 - Go to the “Network settings” section

2 - Select the “DynDNS” subsection

3 - Activate the function

4 - Enter your provider then your username, your password and the host name

5 - If the information is correct the status should change to “activated”.

6 - Click on “Apply” at the bottom right to validate your choice.

Your presence or that of a loved one is essential to allow your technician to install the fiber connection in your home. Without specification or written contraindication from you, the Fiber socket will be installed by default in the living room.

If you are a professional customer, your presence or that of a colleague is essential to allow your technician to install the fiber socket in your premises. Without specification or written contraindication from you, the Fiber socket will be installed by default at the entrance. We advise you to invite your private installer to install or reconnect certain specific equipment (router, switch, VPN, etc.).

If your home/premises allows it, our technicians will pass the fiber through the existing trunking or ducts, along the walls, plinths or in the ceilings.

In other cases, your technician may have to drill a few holes less than 1 cm in diameter if you allow him to do so. If other work is necessary, your technician will give you more details on their nature.

If work is necessary, your technician will give you more details on their nature (creation of an access, a hatch, dismantling of a piece of furniture for example).

No worries. Your current offer remains in service until the final installation of your Fiber access by our technicians.

In the event that you do not wish to carry out the work necessary for the installation of La Fiber, you will be granted a period of 30 days (from your termination) to return the equipment (Internet Box, Apple TV and Smart Wi-Fi ) in one of the Monaco Telecom stores.

Boutique de Fontvieille (Individuals and businesses)

9 Rue du Gabian

Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

If technical conditions permit, it is possible for our technicians to move an existing fiber socket to another room in your apartment. This service costs €150 including VAT (€125 excluding VAT for professional customers) and must be requested when you visit the store at the time of your migration or subscription to the Fiber offer.

Fiber technology requires connection to a new network, which sometimes requires work. Exposed fiber is a discreet alternative that saves you from sometimes unsightly work. This is an ultra-flat white cable that is installed above a plinth.

A complete installation (connection and installation of the Box and equipment) takes between 3 and 4 hours.

In certain cases (pre-fibered building), installation may take less time.

In order to improve stability and performance, your Box is regularly updated.

This update is automatic and is done when your Box is not in use (standby mode).

You do not need to do anything during the update process.

Note: During the update process, your Box will restart.

Wi-Fi 6 is the latest wireless networking standard certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, the consortium responsible for setting technical standards for Wi-Fi technology. The main advantages of Wi-Fi 6 are speed, stability and greater autonomy of connected devices.

If you have the Monaco Telecom Fiber Box and your connected devices (smartphone, tablet, computer) are Wi-Fi 6 compatible then you can benefit from the advantages associated with this new standard. Just make sure your Wi-Fi connection is turned on and your devices connected. If so, you will be able to enjoy the network like never before.

If you subscribe to a Monaco Telecom Fiber offer, your current devices can connect to Wi-Fi without problem.

To benefit from the specific advantages of Wi-Fi 6, your connected devices must be compatible with Wi-Fi 6. More and more smartphones and computers are offering this new functionality:

Smartphones:

• From iPhone 11

• Samsung Galaxy S10, S21, Note Huawei P40 Pro

• Xiaomi Mi11

• …

Computers:

• Apple: From MacBook Air M1, MacBook Pro M1, Mac Mini M1

• Acer Aspire 5 Slim

• HP Specter x360

• …

The ideal location for a smart Wi-Fi terminal is halfway between your Fiber Box and the area poorly covered by your Box's Wi-Fi.

The terminal must not be positioned in a confined location or on a non-rigid surface. The terminal is not designed to be placed outdoors.

Wi-Fi Mesh technology is integrated into the Monaco Telecom Fiber Box. This technology, coupled with Smart Wi-Fi terminals, makes it possible to create efficient and stable network coverage. You can therefore connect anywhere in your home without having to change connection points. Everything is done automatically.

On average, a person spends nearly 3 hours per day on the Internet with uses changing from year to year. To help you choose the best Internet offer, the Monegasque Government has set up an advice page which can be consulted by clicking here. You will find examples of uses associated with consumption data.

In the event of an outage, the mobile broadband key, connected to your Fiber Box, automatically takes over (included in the Fiber Pro Premium and Platinum offers). You then benefit from an alternative Internet network to continue a simple activity (exchanging emails, web browsing, etc.). Activating your mobile broadband key triggers the sending of an information email inviting you to call your customer service. After the network is restored, the switch to main Fiber access is done automatically.

Bridge mode allows you to deactivate the router integrated into your Fiber Box. You can then use a router of your choice without problems with “double routing” and port forwarding. For this mode to work correctly, make sure that only one device is connected to your Box: your external router. All your devices (PC, smartphones, etc.) must be connected (via Wi-Fi or Ethernet) to the external router, and no longer to the Monaco Telecom Fiber Box.

Activating Bridge mode results in:

Loss of Monaco Telecom Internet services: Wi-Fi, mobile broadband key, Smart Wi-Fi

Disabling NAT and Firewall services

Enabling the parameters carried by the additional router

In the event of a malfunction, operator tests will be carried out in standard mode.
